Pilates Expert & Trainer - Mari

Mari Yammas

Lead PEA Pilates Educator

Mari’s contagious passion and positivity for health and wellness began when she was growing up, and started gymnastics – this sport planted the seed for how the rest of her life would be shaped, centred around movement.

When she noticed how much gymnastics challenged not only her strength but also balance, flexibility and control – both physically and mentally, Mari was determined to learn more about the body and how it moves best.

Mari studied Physiotherapy in Melbourne, and completed her Certificate as a Personal Trainer, but she still felt like there was a missing piece of the ‘human movement’ puzzle in her life.

Then came Pilates. Mari did her first ever Pilates course – initially to assist her clinical patients with recovery through movement, and the Pilates obsession was born! She was determined to keep learning more about the discipline.

Mari lived and worked in London UK for 2 years as a clinical pilates instructor and it was by pure chance that she started teaching fitness focused pilates classes.

Mari quickly realised that the clinically focused Pilates courses she had done were incredible for offering clinical theory and evidence based practise, but the fitness focused courses brought something equally valuable in movement – creativity, and flow.

Mari now works predominantly in the education space as well as teaching rehabilitation pilates classes. Mari is also a Keep It Cleaner Pilates Trainer, with hundred of thousands of members as part of their community, and created the KICBUMP Postnatal Pilates workouts.

Mari has been a Physiotherapist for over 10 years and has completed International Pilates training courses including Polestar, DMA, as well as many other courses.

She now brings all of her knowledge and movement experience to you through the PEA Pilates Education courses.
